HAND WRAPS

Hand wraps are an essential accompaniment to your training. The reason for this is two-fold: for safety and for sanitation. The tight compression of a hand wrap keeps the wrist and hand safe and secure and helps to soften the feeling of impact for the puncher and to maintain the alignment of the small bones/tendons within that area of the body. Using hand wraps in combination with gloves provides an extra layer of protection from both impacts and bacteria. Just like wearing socks with shoes, wraps help to keep your gloves smelling fresh. Just be sure to wash your wraps after every use.

MUAY THAI GLOVES

Finding the perfect glove can be difficult. In general, choosing the right glove comes down to its use and its weight. 16oz gloves are a good place to start, perfectly suited for fighting, training and bag work. However, it is recommended to have two pairs of gloves; one for sparring and one for bag and pad work. The SMAI Mexican Hybrid is the gold standard fighting glove, made with cowhide leather and featuring a layered nitrile rubber mould and higher wrist support. This glove comes in 4 weights between 10oz and 16oz, meaning you can upgrade and refine your glove preference.
