“I have big goals and big dream for my career and I’m on my way to achieving them. Sometimes it is not a medal that is the most important achievement. I take pride in growing every day as a person and inspiring others.”
Carola Casale is a dedicated Italian kata athlete and a European Champion. She joined Team SMAI in 2021 and has consistently shown her commitment and unwavering effort in pursuing her athletic ambitions.
When she was just 8 years old, Carola started kata training, and her passion for the sport has consistently fueled her path to success.

Her most recent achievement occurred in March when she secured a gold medal in the Female Team Kata category at the 2023 European Championships. Alongside her teammates Terryana D’Onofrio and Noemi Nicosanti, Carola achieved an impressive score of 41.3 points, elevating them above their rival teams.
No matter how her competitions turn out, Carola loves competing because it lets her learn from others and celebrate how much she's grown as an athlete.
“I love kata competitions because I compete against myself and my limits and I can see how much I've improved from the previous competitions.
I respect all of my opponents and I think I can learn from each of them.”
Carola is currently dedicating her time and energy to her training as she gears up for her upcoming competition scheduled for September.
“The only competition I have planned for the rest of 2023 is the Premier League Dublin. I’m working hard for it because is like a new start for me.”
SMAI are proud to support Carola Casale as she diligently pursues her ambitions in the realm of karate.
